About
Christina Roberts is a versatile mezzo-soprano vocal artist fluent in various musical styles, from Gregorian Chant to Contemporary Classical, with her main focus on traditional liturgical music. Christina’s voice has been described as “flutelike,” and “ethereal,” “like a shaft of moonlight” (Eve Tushnet for Patheos).
She has worked as a Catholic Cantor for churches throughout the Boston and Baltimore areas for several years, specialized in Gregorian chant, as well as polyphony, hymnody, and choral repertoire. Her secular repertoire includes classical art song, oratorio, and eclectic musical theater. She seeks to engage congregations and audiences in the beauty of music, ancient and new. She also seeks to use her expertise in Gregorian chant to revive the tradition in Catholic churches across the country.
Christina has performed with multiple ensembles including the Peabody Renaissance Ensemble, NEXT Ensemble, and Peabody Camerata.
Christina holds a Master’s Degree from Peabody Conservatory in Historical Performance Voice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Boston Univeristy.
She currently resides with her husband and two children in the Baltimore area, where she is available for booking for sacred and secular projects.
